Raw Video - 2SCR Departs Ramstein
Ever thought about what it looked liked as the 2SCR boarded the aircraft in Ramstein, Germany - headed for Iraq?...what the mood was?...what their faces said about what was on their minds? Maybe that's just me but this clip speaks more than words...and there are no words...just the faces...as they settled in for the long ride...
If you haven't seen this clip, take a moment and watch some raw video, courtesy of AFN Kaiserslautern. I searched for Chris but...no joy. Maybe your loved one was caught on tape? Thanks Marti for the graphic - it fit perfectly.
What struck me most were the young faces...so many...
Didn't see Josh either! :( I agree with you, those young men look sooooo young! I know they are highly trained Army men now, but some of them just don't seem old enough to be away from home! Hope all is well and each of our boys are safe this night. Thanks for sharing as always, Blessings & Light, Lisa
I didn't see David either. I did think as I watching I will never again complain about the "heavy" bag I am carrying after a day of shopping and as the stewardess was giving her spiel about where to place their bags, in front of them or overhead, which of those do they do with their weapons. Funny what comes to mind! Marti
thomas is the guy on the cell phone on the plane it's amazing how you can recognize the top of your son's head, or his eyes...did anyone else notice the sgt. has the tropic lightning patch under the flag???!! you have no idea how great it is to see 5 seconds of your son's face!!(actually i guess you do!!) thanks myron Tom
I know there are some good stories behind this video that only the young men & women on board could share with us. To see them flying on what appears to be a "commercial flight" yet they are all carrying their weapons.... I always thought they shipped out in Air Force cargo planes....I guess the Army does things differently :) Thanks for sharing so much information Collabman! The circle of protection is growing stronger every day. collabjan
CJ - That raw video clip educated us too ;-) I had no idea that's how the Cav Regiment was moved. We have learned so much from everyone who is commenting and sharing - keep those cards and letters coming on the blog.
Ok, first time on the site and I love it. The video is so cool. Unless they do a close up it is hard to locate my soldier. They all have the same uniform and similar hair. Next time I will recommend Matt wears something special so I can recognize him. LOL! Thanks for the blog! Terrie Berryhill
I was not able to see Charlie in the video but there was a lot of tall, shaved heads guys and some of them resemble him but were not him :(. The video was great, a huge thank you for that to have a small look into our loved ones lives as they depart for the long 15 month deployment. Looking at the video and seeing all of the somber faces realy brings a reality of of what they could have been thinking at that moment.
I agree about the weapons aboard, what a funny thought........ Thanks for shareing and helping us learn new things. God Bless you all, Contessa
The End

End of blog. Glad to have him home. Mayb...
Silence

There is an odd state of silence after an operation in which more than 10
Al Qaeda insurgents and supporters were detained in our little section of
