Good as Gone...

As I said in my last blog, news and photos on the 1st Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment came pouring out yesterday. Nice to see the 2nd SCR getting the attention they deserve as they work in a very hostile, complex urban environment.

Sniper...what thoughts come to mind when you see that word? Ever wonder why they are called a sniper? What is the role of a sniper? If interested, click on the word for some background...and for those who want more info...visit Snipers Paradise. So, did you know?

Here is a quick peek at a sniper team from the 1st Squadron, 2nd SCR and their role in providing security for officials visiting a water treatment plant in Baghdad's Sadr City neighborhood. I would not want to be in the crosshairs of any of the snipers from the 2nd SCR.

The photo above is of Southern Pines, N.C., native Sgt. David Dickson, a sniper team leader with 1st Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment as he takes aim at a suspiciously moving vehicle several blocks away while providing security for officials visiting a water treatment plant in Baghdad's Sadr City neighborhood.

All of the photos are courtesy of Sgt. Michael Pryor, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division Public Affairs.

Caught in the crosshairs of a sniper from the 2nd SCR...

My thoughts?...simple...good as gone.

Chris, I love you buddy and I am so proud of you and the entire 2nd SCR...be safe!

As always, thanks for the informative post Collabman.

If I may, there's currently a raffle in support of our snipers http://www.pistolraffle.com/

Further details on the build, and the group behind the scenes can be viewed here: http://tinyurl.com/2n44db , and here: http://tinyurl.com/2p7e8y

This is LTW's fourth collaboration effort to raise money for worthy causes; their goal is $30K to support our snipers :)
